Today is the first day of the rest of your life. And some days have greater impact than the sum of its 24 hours, because the date reminds us of some significant reality. Maybe it's a birthday, an anniversary, a "first time" for this or that. Here at Juven8U, February 25 is one of those dates. It's a time for being thankful. It's a time for celebration. It's a time for smiles and laughter. But it's tinged with a bit of pain. Today, my sister Carol, who like me was diagnosed with Cancer, passed away some 9 years ago. She was a trailblazer, a liver of life to the fullest, a giver, with a heart of gold and a warm smile. Today while thinking of what might have been, I can't help but think about the life that she lived. She never waited. She embraced life's challenges but didn't sit around waiting for it to come to her. She drove into life. Her passing, though it is a loss, became part of my inspiration for what we are doing now, and what we will do in the future with Juven8U. Even in her passing Carol makes a contribution and impact to the lives of so many. Here's to a full life. Here's to a Cancer Warrior. Here's to a true inspiration. My Big Sister Carol. Rosanna A.

Here at Juven8U we're always talking about Cancer. It's what we do, promoting stories, sharing information, tips, encouraging and inspiring folks to "Never, Never, Never Surrender," in the words of Winston Churchill - one of history's greatest warriors. We spend a great deal of time focused on adult Cancer Warriors in their fight against the disease. But the fact of the matter is there are a lot of much younger Cancer Warriors who are in the midst of battle with the Big C as well. We want to do two things... Shine a light on some of the great Young Cancer Warriors out there Simply start the conversation about Cancer and the youngest and most vulnerable among us - our kids. For Starters, here are some key acts regarding Cancer and Kids! Did you know Cancer is a leading cause of death for children and adolescents around the world and approximately 300,000 children aged 0 to 19 years old are diagnosed with cancer each year. [1] The most common categories of childhood cancers include leukemias, brain cancers, lymphomas and solid tumours, such as neuroblastoma and Wilms tumour. [1-2] In high-income countries more than 80% of children with cancer are cured, but in many low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) only about 20% are cured. [2-3] Childhood cancer generally cannot be prevented or screened. Improving outcomes for children with cancer requires early and accurate diagnosis followed by effective treatment. Most childhood cancers can be cured with generic medicines and other forms of treatments including surgery and radiotherapy. Treatment of childhood cancer can be cost-effective in all income settings. [2] Avoidable deaths from childhood cancers in LMICs result from lack of diagnosis, misdiagnosis or delayed diagnosis, obstacles to accessing care, abandonment of treatment, death from toxicity, and higher rates of relapse. Childhood cancer data systems are needed to drive continuous improvements in the quality of care, and to drive policy decisions. Who do you know that's currently fighting Cancer and is younger than 21? Let us know and we'll not only reach out but give them a chance to share their stories and pick up a Sunflower and Hug from Canada's #1 Inspiration Team exclusively for Cancer Warriors.

Anyone can make one: For better or worse, anyone can write a blog post about anything they want. Everyone has a voice and the best voices will rise to the top. The writer can show their personality: In blog posts, the writer has more leeway to add in their voice and personality than other types of writing. Blogs are a great form of mass communication: You can help people, learn new things, entertain your audience-the possibilities are endless and amazing. Blogging opens up all of these to a very wide audience. You can make money: Get the right blog going and you can make a lot of money through advertising and sponsored posts. It allows people to craft better thoughts: Instead of reading haphazard, uneducated Facebook statuses, it's much better to see people's thought process in a well-written blog post. You can establish a community: Blogging allows you to connect with other individuals who share the same interests. Sharing ideas and opinions within your community helps establish yourself as a thought leader. Good for SEO: Keeping content on your site fresh and relevant, you can use your blog to boost the search engine ranking (SEO) of your site and your business. It brings people back to your site: If your blog is strong enough and updated regularly, people will come back looking for more and bring traffic back to your site as well. It's free: It costs you a grand total of zero dollars to post to the blog, so if you have something to say, there's nothing to stop you. You can establish yourself as a thought leader: A blog is a great place for your original thoughts, and it can be a wonderful way to show off your individuality. If people like your ideas, you can become a thought leader in your industry! What else do you love about blogs? Let me know!
